Longtime ago, I wanted to be able to "negociate" with frequencyes UNDER 25Hz, "mine best friends on audio", but for that, must have sometring REAL strong.

200 liter internal volume usable (after all reinforcements),18" Maelstrom X Gen 2 speaker, and space to place the infrabass speaker.

Dedicate to all my neighboors.

No more than 9-10 volts rms on speaker (under 30 watts).

Osciloscope probe are directly on sub input, to observe signalwave, frequency and voltage.

Checking compression:


First test, 40Hz down to 3Hz.


Second test, 24Hz and 14 Hz, in and out of apartament:

DJLECO nice build man, but you need to plot SPL vs Frequency response for this subwoofer in order to ascertain the claim.

As I told to everyone:

I'm not looking for BIG SPL, I'm still in the home, with neighboors around me.

What I'm intended to do is to extend as much as possible SPL for frequencyes under 25Hz, in my apartament.

For that, that infrabass will be equipped (in future) with 1000Watts amplifier (Leco one and Leco SMPS too),with Hi Cut filter at around 25-28Hz,with 12 or even 24db/oct, for keep as much as possible upper frequency to 30Hz.

For compensate attenuation of under 20Hz freqs, I will made a boost filter of 10-12db for 14Hz, to try to mantain as much possible linear response between 10Hz and 30Hz, that being frequency band for that infrabass will work.

All that movies posted above, was made with NO MORE that 8-9Volts RMS on speaker so UNDER 30 watts on it (it was around 10PM in the night), so If I will listen at let's say 100-200Watts, will be enough SPL for my dining room.
If I want more, I will push 500, or 800Watts on it, but deja will be punishment, if I'll do that...

Leco what i want to see is that if you test the subwoofer with 1W power, how much is the actual roll off in SPL with 1W input power at 10hz, 20hz,30hz etc. I don't want power level or high spl level. i want is bandwidth

I don't have condenser electret microphine to make measurements, or SPL meter.

And to be accurate, those measurements must be made in anechoic chamber.

The fact is that now, I have present in the room frequencies below 20Hz, at good SPL.

Before, at under 28Hz, freqs we're rich atenuated, now is very ok, and that's exactly what mine intention was.
