Load testing of SMPS

Hi all, I have a question about how you test your high power SMPS.
Are you using power resistors or halogen lamps or any other methods?

I have seen some videos from Silvio where he was using lamps but I was wondering if anyone else has used other methods as well.

I plan to make a 1KW SMPS and I am thinking about how to test it at full load. For light loads I have a DC electronic load and some 50W resistors, but for 1KW load things are getting a bit more serious.

You can use some household appliances such as heaters ( not including fan motor), cloths iron, toaster these all draw an amount of current depending on the input voltage to these appliances. Putting an ammeter in series and a voltmeter across the output terminals of the supply will tell you the power output.
